Acting Squadron Leader Patrick Glynn THORNTONBROWN (81639), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, No. 609 Squadron.
This officer has taken part in a large number of sorties. Latterly he has led the squadron on several missions during which 21 enemy aircraft were shot down in combat. Several others were destroyed on the ground and a variety of other targets were attacked with damaging effect. Much of the success achieved CAN be attributed to Squadron Leader Thornton-Brown’s inspiring leadership, great skill and dash. He has destroyed, at least 3 enemy aircraft.
